		<description>I guess I can see that.  The big question for me is this:  do you boycott the event or do you make it a learning opportunity?  I mean, I think I would rather let someone I disagree with and then hold a planned rebuttle presentation/event a couple of days later.  Or something like that.  It just seems like such a waste...</description>

		<description>I&#039;m so with you on this, for the same reason that I was pleased when Columbia invited Iranian President Amadinejad to speak.  I&#039;m all for airing opposing, even (especially?) the offensive views.  Censorship only exacerbates things.

That said, I think I can empathize with the students and faculty (even if I don&#039;t agree).  I say this because attended a liberal university (the University of Utah) that existed under the shadow of a powerful religious organization with an authoritarian history (the LDS Church).  When you continually feel the burden of the surrounding conservative religious culture and the political power of the institution, these kinds of lashings out might prove more common.</description>
